A lovely vintage 1940s or 1950s retro diamond cluster cocktail ring with a natural Burma ruby centerpiece. The oval cut ruby measures 7x6.3x3.7mm and has an estimated weight of about 1.25 carats. It has a fantastic deep vivid red color with just a tint of a pinkish hue. Please, note that the color shown in the photos does not perfectly match the exact color of the stone and photos tend to exhibit a bit more pinkish and purplish nuances, but that is not the exact color. The stone is natural untreated Burma with typical gemological characteristics for this origin. The gem shows natural inclusions with hairline surface fissures that are also typical for untreated and unheated rubies. The ruby center is surrounded by a cluster of 22 round brilliant cut diamonds of various graduated sizes in the 2.5-3mm range that have a total estimated diamond weight of about 1.50 carats. The diamonds have an average white color in the H-I range and general VS2/SI1 clarity. Gross weight of this nice cocktail ring is 5.9 grams in 18 karat white gold and the ring is further hallmarked for 18K gold. The top of the ring has a diameter of about 17mm and ring size is 55 (US size 7 / UK size O), but can easily be resized. Scarce and superbly looking vintage jewelry collector piece and one of the nice 1940s or 1950s retro Burmese ruby rings and jewels.
