Item description:

See scans – perfect condition. This is a fantastic circa 1880 Victorian era Burma ruby and diamonds cluster ring in a marquise almond like shape. The ring is set throughout with 26 round old European cut diamonds of various sizes, estimated to weigh a total of 1.5 carats, claw set in silver to a marquise shaped yellow gold mount, to a tapered D-section rose gold shank. All surrounding diamonds possess a great and sparkling F-G white color and average VS/SI1 clarity. The centerpiece is a large and intense pigeon blood colored no heat and untreated Burma Ruby weighing approximately 1.2 carats. The ruby is eye clean and transparent with great VVS clarity for a Type II gemstone and minor surface wear consistent with age. It has been inspected and confirmed as such by a certified HRD gemologist. Antique unheated and untreated Burmese Mogok mine rubies of that quality are extremely scarce and bring highest estimates and prices. This antique piece of jewelry is of English manufacture and most likely crafted by one of the very skillful goldsmiths and jewellery masters of that time. The jewel comes with original Mothers & Son (late reed & Son) case of issue – all in perfect intact condition. We shall accompany the ring with our company's COA. Gross weight of the ring is 4.2 grams. The marquise shaped top measures approximately 21.5 mm long and 11mm wide at its widest part. The ring is size 53 (UK size M-N / US size 6 1/2), but it can be resized upon additional request. Scarce and gorgeous antique jewelry / jewellery collector piece and one of the rare old British Victorian diamond and Burmese ruby jewels and diamond rings.
